Did you know Harris Tweed is the only fabric in the world to be governed by its own act of parliament? It is woven from 100% pure virgin wool, which is dyed in the wool before being spun giving the fabric so many distinctive colour nuances! All Harris Tweed is woven by hand on a treadle loom at the home of the weaver - not in a mill - and can only be made in the islands which make up the Outer Hebrides in Scotland. It has gained a reputation for the highest quality, beauty and the Clo Mor (Gaelic for 'The Big Cloth') is recognized all over the world. All these bags are handmade in Edinburgh.
